Rouge Woods Richmond Hill History: This land is bounded by Major Mackenzie Drive to the south, Leslie street to the east, Elgin Mills road to the north, and Bayview Avenue on the west. in 1800's Part of this land was owned by Berczy Settlers of German origin. Another part of the land was owned by John Eyer, who operated a sawmill which is part of Rouge River today.
